Welcome

Inception of the blog was founded on my South Indian restaurant, The Tiffin Room, in an old country house - Bonchurch Manor on the small island of Isle of Wight, on the southern tip of England. We lived, worked here and offered our vast house to guests to stay. I wrote vociferously for a while about my experiences as a hotelier which can be read here and then went on to create this blog - a personal rambling space.

My restaurant, now defunct, created and served food that was an extension of my life, beliefs and philosophy. The result was this-“If the Michelin Guide cared more about proper food, rather than the degree of starch on the napkins, it would give Bonchurch a star”, a surprising accolade from Clive Aslet, in The Times. You can read more press articles here.

I tend to blog  about my cross cultural experiences, not just from Bangalore to England, but from London to Bonchurch- a small provincial village in rural Isle of Wight. I am still undecided as to which move shocked me more.
